Honestly, the times I've gotten faster were the times I was running with Erica and Deirdre--both of them listening to their ipods and running fast. Not much chit-chatting going on there. Unfortunately, I sometimes think that all the chatting we do while running slows us down. Not that that's a bad thing. I love the social aspect of running.
