while training for the salt lake marathon, i went through a huge adjustment period that included getting used to running with many to running by myself. during that time, my little iPod and i became great friends. i discovered that listening to novels or my church magazine was a great way to pass the time on a long run.
perusing through iTunes today, i stumbled across a *FREE* copy of the alchemist by paulo coelho (download by july 14). now i've got 4 hours, 16 minutes and 33 seconds of running time to kill. shoot, that's a marathon, right? :)
i've thought of getting a book and putting it on my ipod too. especially something fun, like harry potter.
ReplyDeleteoh it is a great book, you will love it!
ReplyDeleteoh! i'm so glad you found that. we were just talking about it last night, and i'd love to get a free copy to listen to.
ReplyDeletei tried running to a book one time and it was pure torture (made the time go as slow as molasses), but I think I might have to try it again.
i downloaded it last night and listened to it on my 4.5-mile run. it was wonderful! i've been listening to it all morning, but am quickly discovering that i can't pay attention to the book and my work at the same time. i guess the brain doesn't multitask quite THAT well. hahaha. thanks for spreading the word!
ReplyDeletei am glad that it's working out for you molly!! didn't it make the run go by SO FAST?! i can't wait to get it started. tomorrow morning!
ReplyDeleteOH WOW!! That is a fantastic idea... I've never thought of listening to audio books... though, I require maximum beats per minute so perhaps I could get one with a really fast reader! HAH!
